Britain jails Nigerian nurse over human trafficking

The Director-General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Ms Julie Okah-Donli, has described the conviction of a British-based Nigerian nurse, Ms Josephine Iyamu, as good omen to the fight against human trafficking.

The Head of Press and Public Relations of NAPTIP, Mrs Stella Nezan, quoted Okah-Donli’s reacting in a statement in Abuja.

Janet Jackson made her first public appearance in more than a year for the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Friday. Jackson was photographed walking into the Vogue Fashion event surrounded by bodyguards. She wore a black, long-sleeved ensemble and a diamond necklace, with her hair in a sleek, high ponytail.

The 48-year-old’s makeup artist, Preston Meneses, shared a photo from the evening via Instagram.
“Such a wonderful time here in #Dubai with my sis painted by me #makeupartist #prestonmakeup #vogue #voguedubai #makeup #makeupforever #janetjackson,” he wrote.
Celebuzz reported that Jackson was also accompanied by her husband, billionaire Wissam Al Mana, on Friday. Jackson and Al Mana wed in a private ceremony in 2012. The couple confirmed their marriage to the press last year.
Jackson has not made a public appearance since amfAR’s Cinema Against AIDS Gala in May 2013, Us Weekly noted.

Premium Times reports with reference to the NAN, that the incident was caused by the stampede at the inauguration ceremony of the new stadium on November 7.
At the current moment it is not clear why the stampede occurred at the festive occassion, fixed to open with a friendly match between the Nigerian and the Ghanaian teams.
Uyo resident, who was reportedly on his way to the stadium, to the venue:
“It is possible football fans were scrambling to enter the stadium to watch the match. That’s what I heard.”

Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistani police say they have arrested up to 40 people in connection with the killing of a Christian couple in Punjab province who were beaten, then pushed into a burning kiln after being accused of desecrating the Quran.

Local police officials said a mob from neighboring villages formed Tuesday after a local mullah declared the couple were guilty of blasphemy.

The mob allegedly marched to the couple's home, broke down their door, dragged them outside, beat them and threw them into the brick kiln where they both worked.

The attack happened in the town of Kot Radha Kishan, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) southwest of Lahore, the capital of Punjab. Police officials identified the woman as Shyman Bibi Urf Shamar, and her husband as Sajjad Nasir Zurjah Nazir Nasir.

According to statistics, 8 out of 10 men in Nigeria prefer not to wear a condom due to different reasons. As for the women, they also often don’t like to use it. But the sad thing is that the ladies don’t insist their men wear condoms as well.
Men prefer not to use condoms because:
– “I am healthy, I don’t have infections!”
– It feels better without it.
